Using Stories to Teach Genetics to Nurses and Other Health Professionals: A Practical Guide A webinar delivered by Professor Maggie Kirk, Genomics Policy Unit, University of South Wales, United Kingdom Thursday, March 27th 2014 10:00am EDT (New York) 2.00pm GMT The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to enrich their teaching by using stories, by providing an overview on the power and use of stories to support teaching and learning in genetics for nurses, underpinned by practical examples. This webinar would be of interest to those involved in teaching at the Baccalaureate or Master’s level in Nursing and other Health Science Professional programmes. Objectives: 1. To raise awareness about the power of stories in engaging nursing students in complex subjects 2. To inform educators and other interested health professionals on approaches to incorporating stories in genetics education sessions 3.
