Job Description -

~~An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Technical Officer to join the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service [HODS] in this busy and progressive CPA accredited laboratory.

HODS is a regional / national ‘one stop’ fully integrated service providing morphology, immunophenotyping [flow cytometry], cytogenetics and molecular genetics for the diagnosis and follow-up of haematological malignancies. In addition, flow cytometry is utilised for the diagnosis and monitoring of a number of other non-malignant haematological conditions. Molecular genetic techniques are also used to aid with therapy choice in non-haematological malignancies.

The Cytogenetics team will be part of the newly formed East Midlands and East of England Genomics Laboratory Hub (EMEE GLH), which might require staff to work shift patterns in an extended hours service (8am-8pm) in a 7 day service.
