Job Description -
A vacancy has arisen within the Leukaemia Cytogenetics laboratory of the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS) for a 12 month fixed term (maternirt cover) HCPC registered Clinical Scientist (pre-registration trainees nearing the end of their training are welcome to apply, and may be employed on Annex 21).
The HODS group of laboratories provide a multi-disciplinary diagnostic service for the diagnosis and monitoring of haematological malignancies for the much of the East Anglian region, including morphology, immunophenotyping, cytogenetic analysis and molecular genetics analysis.
You should have experience in all aspects of cytogenetic processing and analysis, to include karyotype analysis, with experience in malignant cytogenetics an advantage. You will work with a team of experienced clinical scientists and support staff to provide cytogenetic processing and analysis of bone marrow and peripheral blood in the main, but also including FFPE tissue, and other body fluids or tissue as required. Such analysis is done by karyotype and FISH analysis. You will report to the Lead Clinical Scientist for the laboratory and will be able to attend educational meetings and regional multi-disciplinary team meetings (MDTs) held internally.
