How to Join
Please apply online to be
considered for membership.
Membership applications will need the support of a proposer and
seconder (both members of BSGM; one should be a member of the
constitutent group for which membership is being sought).
Membership applications may be accepted through submission of a CV
where current members are not known to the person applying.
Applications are submitted to the Council of the Society.
The first year's subscription must be paid by credit card at the
time of online application. If the Council feels that a
person applying for membership does not meet the criteria,
membership fees paid will be refunded.
Note: Members of the British Society for Genetic
Medicine can claim a tax deduction on their annual subscription.
This is approved by the Inland Revenue
under Section 344 ITEPA 2003.

Subscription rates for the membership year April 2017-
March 2018 are:
Member of BSGM £60
Member of BSGM and Association for Clinical Genetic Science (ACGS)
Member of BSGM and Association of Genetic Nurses and Counsellors
Member of BSGM and Clinical Genetics Society (CGS)
Membership of Cancer Genetics Group may be added to any of the
above groupings for an additional £15
Student membership of BSGM (and one of the above groups)
ACGS Band 5 and below membership £20
Members may take out affiliate
membership of the ESHG at a reduced rate
