Job Description -
We are recruiting to the post of NIHR CRN National Specialty Lead (NSL) for Genetics.
This national role is a 1PA post, so involves an average weekly commitment of 4 hours. The post-holder will work in NIHR CRN Cluster E with Professor Stuart Parker (the National Specialty Cluster Lead for Ageing, Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases (DeNDRON), Neurological Disorders and Genetics).
Genetics supports the setup and delivery of clinical research in the NHS in genetic diseases. The Genetics NSL works with a team of regional specialty leads. Cluster E has a particular interest in the development of the next generation of researchers.
The Cluster Office is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and will provide administrative support for the role and travel expenses. In practical terms, the post-holder would participate in Cluster Executive meetings, lead the national specialty group and partake in other national NIHR CRN meetings. The successful applicant will work with the Cluster managerial and admin team (led by Dr Gary Nestor) and the CRN as a whole, but particularly the Medical, Research Delivery and Business Development & Marketing Directorates.
